1. Jordan’s Retreat
Friday through Sunday, Jordan went on a retreat with the Benedictine Monks. Which left me with two kids by myself. And because I’m a big baby and can’t sleep in the house without Jordan, I decided to visit my parents
2. Visited My Parent
Jordan helped me load up the car on Friday before he left. I had it all timed out to leave right at nap time so the three hour drive wouldn’t be too bad. I get about an hour out and Jordan calls me to tell me that he forgot to pack the suitcase. The one with all my diapers, clothes and toiletries. So I had to turn around and get it.
So my grand plans to drive to my parents during nap time were foiled and they were awake for most of it. Que much crying towards the end.
I’m glad I went though. Taking care of two kids is exhausting. Much admiration for those single parents or wives who have a husband deployed or who travels a lot.
3. Nice Weather
We’ve been super lucky this week and have had the nicest weather (for January). Like 50’s. Which has meant that we can go hang out on our swingset.
Which means our days are going a little bit better because Mr. Bored Disctructo isn’t as destructive when he can get some energy out.
4. We May Have Found a Couch
I’m still crossing my fingers. But we may have found a leather couch. It’s not exactly what I had in mind. But I think it’s going to work better than what I had wanted. More details though once/if we actually pick it up.
Work has really picked up lately. Which is why it’s been a little slow around here this week. And why I have a mountain of laundry in the bathroom waiting to be folded. But our groceries should be fully funded…that’s a plus right?
Have you taken my blog survey yet? If not, you can take it here. I’m giving away a $5 Amazon gift card for your 3 minutes of time too. I’ve loved reading all the responses so far.
7. Our Family Pictures
I mentioned that we got our family pictures done at JCPenny last week. Here’s the three that we got on our CD. The three where we weren’t missing a major body part like a head or 2 of 4 people had their eyes closed. Lets take a closer look shall we?Where are my hands? What about Noah’s? Is it just me or does feel like there should be a couple more inches to this picture?Dang it…Hailey lost her foot. At least Noah and I got our hands back. And this one actually turned out alright, so I guess I can give them a little credit…
