I haven’t blogged about it much, but I’ve struggled with anxiety this summer. Earlier this year, we were the tightest we’ve ever been on money and quite frankly it was scary.
A couple weeks after Jordan found his new job, the anxiety kicked in. My body had been in fight or flight mode for so long it finally crumbled under all the weight I had been carrying.
Combined with my postpartum hormones I had a lovely cocktail of postpartum anxiety and a little post traumatic stress. I reached out to my midwife and she gave me a few things to try, which luckily have worked really well.
Around the same time, Jenna asked if I would review her journal and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. While the supplements I’ve been on have been helping, it’s been nice to have these tools to help me diffuse the anxiety that still creeps up every now and then.
30 Days to Calm
Jenna breaks everything out by day, giving you a helpful tip and journal prompt each day. By the end of the 30 days, you’ll have several tools in your back pocket to whip out at a moments notice.
My personal favorite has been to work through your senses during an anxiety attack by noticing what you’re smelling, tasting, touching etc.. It really helps to ground me and pull me out of that crazy hamster wheel that is my mind during an anxiety attack.
Anxiety is a lot more common than we realize, especially once you start talking about it. So if you struggle with anxiety or know someone who does, grab a copy of 30 Days to Calm. You can preorder your copy here.
