One of our favorite activities is going on a nature hike. I’ll take the kids during the week if the weather is nice and we especially love going with Daddy after Mass on a Sunday.
I’ll be honest, we don’t apply sunscreen much unless we’re going to be outside during peak UV times (10:00am-3:00pm). Otherwise, I just let their skin soak up the Vitamin D.
Sunday afternoon hiking is usually during those peak UV times though.
Finding a Non-Toxic Sunscreen
I’ve been on the hunt for a safe sunscreen that doesn’t leave you all greasy and pasty white from the minerals.
It’s a real issue with natural sunscreen, isn’t it?
We just tested out the SPF 50 Guava Mango Sunscreen Spray in return for my honest review.
And oh my goodness, you guys! This stuff smells amazing! The tropical mango isn’t too over powering and smells so yummy.
As far as being natural, it’s 70% organic and made with all kinds of good things for your skin (think moisturizing without feeling greasy).
It absorbed quickly and didn’t leave that nasty white residue that a lot of natural sunscreens tend to do.
I always double check any of our skin and hair products in the Skin Deep Database to make sure we’re not using anything with dangerous ingredients.

Of course I’m loving the spray feature (who doesn’t when you’re trying to coat your kids haha).
Not that I would EVER forget to reapply sunscreen (guilty…) this stuff is water resistant for 80 minutes, which helps buffer any mommy forgetfulness.
Where to Find this Sunscreen
Coola has a ton of other products and you can find them at Sephora, Ulta and Nordstrom and on their website.
The SPF 50 Guava Mango Sunscreen Spray retails for $36, BUT it’s a huge can so I feel like I can justify it.
